Visit Santa's official “North Pole” residence
Located in the Arctic Circle, the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi is known as “Santa's official North Pole residence” and is one of the most popular travel destinations in Finland. The village is open year-round for kids of all ages to see Santa and his elves.
Visitors can also send postcards — with Santa’s special postmark — from the Santa Claus Post Office, shop for souvenirs at the various handcraft shops or learn about Finnish Christmas traditions at the Christmas exhibition.
You could even have your photo taken with Father Christmas himself!
When is the best time to visit Lapland? The best time to visit Lapland for a snow-dusted getaway is between November and March. During these winter months, the landscapes are blanketed by the thickest coating of snow you'll see all year. And if you fancy taking the little ones to meet the big man in red, definietly December is your best choice.
Magical village experience
You'll feel magic in the air when a family travels to Lapland for the first time. No Christmas experience can compare to the excitement of going to Santa’s Lapland home, where the snow and reindeer are real and and the awe-inspiring Northern Lights dance purple and green across the night sky. This holiday with your children or grandchildren will be remembered forever!
