Day 1: Arrival to Yerevan
Meeting at the “Zvartnots” international Airport and transfer to your hotel in Yerevan.
In the afternoon, walking tour in Yerevan: The Republic Square, Opera House, Swan Lake, Blue Mosque, the main streets, the Northern Avenue with many brand shops, luxurious cafes and restaurants, Cascade, the Park of Freedom.
Visit the Blue Mosque. It is an 18th-century mosque in Yerevan. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure of the Iranian period. Visit Cascade and Cafesjian Museum of Art. Cascade is an open-air park museum displaying impressive examples of contemporary sculptural art. From the top of Cascade, you will enjoy the beauty of the city.
Dinner at the traditional Armenian restaurant. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 2: Yerevan – Garni – Symphony of Stones – Geghard – Sevan – Yerevan (Duration 8-9 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel and trip to Temple Garni, which is also called “Temple of Sun”. Garni is the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the royal palace. Not far from the village Garni is situated one of the most well-known and beautiful natural monuments of Armenia – Symphony of Stones. It is said that this natural monument is the result of the collapse of the volcanic rocks. We will continue our way to Geghard Monastery, a unique architectural monument, founded in the fourth century, partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs, and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Excursion to Lake Sevan - one of the high-altitude lakes in the world situated at the altitude of 2000 meters above the sea level. On clear and sunny days it looks like a piece of sky that has descended to the earth among the mountains. A visit to Sevanavank Monastery located on the Northwestern shore of Lake Sevan. According to an inscription in one of the churches, it was founded in 874 AD by Princess Mariam.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 3: Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni – Yerevan (Duration 8-9 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. You will pass a special day full of colorful impressions: Tour to Khor-Virap monastery (4 - 17th century) where Grigor the Illuminator was held in captivity for 40 years for his effort in introducing Christianity to Armenia.
The history of Armenia dates back to early civilization. Visit the Areni Cave, home to the the 4000 BC-year old wine-producing facility and the site where the world’s earliest known leather shoe was discovered 5,500 years ago. Continue trip to Noravank monastery – a great religious and cultural center of 12th c. The oldest structure of the monastery is the church of St. Karapet (9-10 c) that has not survived but reconstructed in the 13th c. Lunch near Noravank. Wine tasting in Hin Areni Winery. Here you will learn about modern, state-of-the-art wine production with historic and indigenous Areni grape varietals.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 4: Departure from Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
